Returning home after 23 years of living abroad the owners of this elegant Victorian property in central Windsor required a complete garden renovation. DIG were briefed to create a traditional garden to reflect the age and style of the property.
To counteract the long narrow proprtions of the space, DIG divided the area into three distinct zones: An Indian sandstone patio, full width circular lawn, and informal area to the rear.
Formal structural planting comprised of a low circular buxus hedge, four buxus balls marking the threshold to each area, a topiary prunus and taxus cone. The existing mature bay to the rear was pruned to create a classical dome. A taxus hedge with decorative central gate concealed a working area and shed.
Traditional garden favourites including repeat flowering roses, slavia, nepeta and foxgloves filled four equal sized central borders. Scented jasmine and clematis will in time mask the new perimeter fencing.
Subtle accent lighting completed the transformation.
