Farmyard Transformation

This property was originally the dairy farm to the splended tudor manor at Sutton Place. DIG were briefed to create an informal country garden to sit seamlessly within the central crescent shaped space, of what had once been the farmyard.

DIG developed a freeflowig radial footprint of sweeping curves with a substantial island border for drifts of assorted perennials and roses for long seasons of colour. Yew columns were strategicaly placed to provide vertical interest whilst maintaining unobstructed views of paddoks and woodland beyond. Low curves of osmathus hedges, hidden in summer by towering perennials, are revealed  in the winter months.

Hard landscaping of sandstone pavers and cobbles was undertaken by the Garden Flooring Company during the challenging Spring of 2020. A comprehensive irrigation sysytm throughout all borders and lawns proved invaluble in the first hot summer.

DIG will undertake a second phase of tree, hedge and secondary garden planting throughout Autumn 2020.
